9 Months already!

We are so sorry that it has been so long since we have blogged. There really are no excuses! We are planning on backdating the months so that everyone can enjoy seeing Liliana grow! Here she is at 9 months...

The biggest achievement this month has been cruising along furniture, eating table food and expanding her vocabulary. Liliana's favorite word is still da da da da or dada. She is now saying naaa, naa naa, squealing and blowing rasperries with her lips. We have been working with her
on saying mama. It will come one day!

Liliana is crawling around and pulling up on everything. She will walk along the furniture and when standing hold on with one hand. She is so close to standing on her own, but is pretty content with holding on. We'll see how long it takes before she is walking.

Liliana has decided this month that she does not want baby food and refuses to eat it. This has forced us to get a little creative with meals. Liliana will eat pasta noodles, green beans, cheese, peas, carrots, freeze dried yogurt, shredded chicken, apple slices, pear, peaches and grain puffs. She eats anything that she can put in her mouth herself. This has been really fun to watch and surprisingly less messy than baby food.

Christmas time is here! We have completed the decorations for Christmas and Liliana surprisingly has not been that interested in the tree. We prepared by not decorating the lower branches but she hasn't even tried to play with the tree. We have really enjoyed showing her the lights and singing Christmas carols to her. We will be celebrating Christmas this year in our new house in Asheville and we are really excited. This is the first Christmas in 4 years that Liz has not had to work!

We went to see Santa today and Liliana was great! She smiled and seemed to really like Santa. Also, a Christmas card will be in the mail to all shortly.

Merry Christmas!

Happy Easter!

Hello everyone!

Liliana has been a busy girl the past few weeks.

On April 5th, Liliana had a lot of visitors. Her Aunt Natalie, Grandmama and Pawpaw Smith and her Great Grandma Ruskie came to celebrate Aunt Natalie's 23rd birthday with Liliana. Aunt Natalie had a great day spending time with Liliana.

Here are four generations...

On Tuesday, April 7th, Liliana experienced her 1st snowfall...

We had a dusting in the morning and she tried to catch snowflakes with her tongue.

She loved it so much that she didn't want to get out of her warm snowsuit for her nap.

On Wednesday April 8th, Liz had her 6-week check up with Dr. Jackson. Everything went well. Dr. Jackson couldn't believe how much she has grown and was so excited to hold her. He held her almost the whole visit. He even posed for a picture. (Dr. Jackson delivered Liliana)

Liliana also had her first playdate with twins Addison and Cooper Averill. They are 17days older than Liliana. Addison was asleep most of the playdate, so she enjoyed playing with Cooper.

Liliana has a long period in the morning where she is alert and playful.

She is also getting very strong. Here she is enjoying her mirror and giving an eskimo kiss to Daddy.

Aunt Mimi (Michelle) came all the way from New Jersey to spend a week with Liliana. She has loved cuddling and spoiling her. She was so excited to be able to spend Easter with her!

Liliana had a great Easter! The Easter Bunny brought Liliana a webcam in her Easter basket so that she can talk to Nana and Grandad Kellett. We set it up Easter night and Liliana spent about 20 min. chatting with them and meeting her Uncle Charles for the 1st time.

Easter morning in her bunny pants and Easter basket...

Adam, Liz, Aunt Michelle, and Liliana spent Easter day at Biltmore Estate. We enjoyed a lovely brunch and then walked the Gardens and took many pictures!

and some family photos!

Relaxing in the Biltmore gardens...

and now after many weeks we finally captured her sweet smile!

One Month!!

It is so hard to believe that Liliana is almost a month old. She has done so much this month including meeting family, friends, and going on outings. Two weekends ago Adam's parents Barry and Lynn and his sister Natalie came to visit. Last Saturday, Liliana got to meet her Great Aunts Judy and Carol, her Great Uncle Bruce and her Great Grandmother Ruskie. Liliana loved being held and posing for many pictures. We look forward to Nick and Melissa (visiting us from NY) this weekend.

Liliana on March 15, 2009... Her original due date!

On Sunday, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and took Liliana to Biltmore Estate!

Adam and Liz are adjusting fairly well to life with a newborn. Liliana is starting to have a 2-3hour alert period during the day. It has been fun to see her big eyes. We have been taking advantage of this time to sing to her and show her the black and yellow picture book that Aunt Michelle got her. We also set up her Bobby swing for her to play in while she's awake.

On St. Patricks Day, Liliana took her first stroller ride in the park with Mommy. It was a beautiful day and Liliana loved sleeping in the stroller.

Liliana had her newborn pictures taken March 18th. It took her a while to fall asleep, but once she did we were able to get wonderful pictures. The photographer was very patient and takes beautiful pictures. She also did Liz's maternity pictures. Check out her blog to see a sneak peak of Liliana's newborn pictures.

(Liliana's pictures are under 03/20/2009 titled Spring, lots of newborns!)

On March 20th, Liliana had her 3 week checkup with the Dr. Chu. He said she was growing great and seemed very healthy. He said that he will see her next at her 2 month checkup. Oh, yeah... she weighed 6lbs!!!

Adam went back to work last Wednesday and is excited to begin working from home now on Mondays and Tuesdays!

Here is a final pic of our little girl sleeping and her cute little smile she does when she sleeps!
